Downtown Anderson, SC Wedding at The Bleckley Inn

Wedding Planning, Weddings

Makenna and Alex were married on a beautiful summer day at The Bleckley Inn in Anderson, SC! The Bleckley Inn has been on our wedding venue bucket list for a while and we are so glad we finally got to photograph a wedding there!

Getting Married at The Bleckley Inn

Getting married at The Bleckley Inn is so easy because they have everything you need all in one place! You can get ready right in the inn and have your ceremony and reception within a few feet of each other. You can choose to get married outdoors or indoors. For this summer wedding, Makenna and Alex got married outdoors and then had their reception indoors inside the carriage house.

Getting Ready in the Suite at The Bleckley Inn

We absolutely LOVED photographing Makenna and Alex’s getting ready photos because they each had a suite at the inn. The space was beautiful and there was plenty of natural light, which is exactly what we need for beautiful images. There is a full kitchen and living room area as well as a separate bedroom suite with a huge bathroom. That means there is plenty of room for your makeup artist to set up and for everyone to do their hair and makeup!

First Look in the Courtyard of The Bleckley Inn

Makenna and Alex chose to share a first look. We love it when our couples have first looks! It gives us so much more time for portraits. Plus, it helps calm your nerves immediately! We have heard from so many couples that say they felt so much more at ease once they were able to see, hug, and kiss their partner. Plus, The Bleckley Inn has so many options for first looks. Makenna and Alex chose to share their first look in the beautiful alleyway courtyard off of Whitner St.

Daddy/Daughter First Look out front at The Bleckley Inn

We chose to have a separate location for Makenna’s first look with her dad. The lighting was beautiful right out front of the inn, so that’s what we chose! Her dad even teared up. We love daddy/daughter first looks! They are full of so much emotion and sweetness.

Wedding Party Portraits Out Front at The Bleckley Inn

We decided to take the wedding party portraits out in front of the inn. We found a gorgeous tree with purple flowers that was the perfect backdrop for the bridesmaids. The groomsmen were just a few feet away on the other side of the entryway for a more masculine look with the stone wall.

Ceremony and Family Portraits at The Carriage House

The ceremony was absolutely beautiful! Makenna and Alex got married at the carriage house, which is the outdoor option for ceremonies at The Bleckley Inn. The huge carriage doors were the backdrop for their vows. We could not have asked for better weather and everything was absolutely beautiful! We also took their family portraits here. Typically, we do family portraits in front of the altar where our couples get married since there is usually a beautiful floral arrangement or backdrop.

Reception Inside The Carriage House

Makenna and Alex had a gorgeous reception! Everyone was dancing. It was packed!!! And they opted for cupcakes instead of a full wedding cake. We love it when our couples do this! Everyone loves cupcakes and they were delicious! There is plenty of space in the carriage house for dancing and eating. It is quite large inside! They also had an open bar on one side as well, which was perfect for cocktail hour while we were finishing up the family portraits.

Sunset Portraits in front of The Carriage House

While we chose to do Makenna & Alex’s first look and initial portraits in the alleyway, we decided to opt for a separate location for their sunset portraits. If your ceremony takes place before sunset, we always like to add a few minutes during sunset for some beautiful glowly light! Plus, it gives you another chance for portraits for variety in your album. It’s also a nice chance to sneak away from your guests for a couple of minutes!

Getaway Outside The Carriage House

We went back outside for their getaway with bubbles! We LOVE it when our couples choose bubbles for their getaway. There’s nothing to clean up and we don’t have to worry about accidents that can happen with sparklers. We think it makes for super magical photos! What do you think?
