Did you know that your engagement session is one of the most important parts of your wedding photography experience? That’s because it allows us to work together before the wedding day! We get to teach you how to pose, and we get to see how you two interact best as a couple. Having an engagement session before your wedding is one of the most effective ways to ensure that we capture stunning portraits on your wedding day.
We think the engagement session is so important that we include it with EVERY wedding package. Even our 4-hour wedding timeline includes an enegagment session at our studio in Anderson because we think it’s such a big part of your experience. The engagement session is often the first time we meet our couples!
One of the biggest decisions about your engagement session is where to take them! This guide is for you! We’re going to share some of our favorite images from the most common locations we photograph. For our most popular wedding package, we include sessions in Greenville, Anderson, Easley, and Clemson at no additional cost. So we are going to start with those areas!
You know and love it. Downtown Greenville is definitely one of the best places to have a photoshoot. There are just so many options! We can go to parks or we can stay near the buildings on main street. Whatever you want! We can even go up to the top of a Parking Garage!
This is a fun location located in Mauldin. There are boardwalks, bridges, and beauty all around!! If you like trails, and lots of green, you’ll love this spot!!
Furman is always a go-to college location for sessions because of its immaculate gardens, greenery, and all around beauty. I’ve shot at Furman more times than I can count, and there are SO many great spots for photographing. Since I have tons of images and favorite spots, I decided to categorize them by location!! Keep scrolling to see more of what Furman has to offer!
My favorite thing about Furman in the spring is the abundance of beautiful blooms around the college campus!! My absolute favorite trees are dogwood trees, and there are dogwoods galore at Furman! We have to catch these at just the right time. They only bloom in April!!
The Rose Garden is one of those classic, timeless, photo locations that I will always enjoy. In a good year, the roses bloom all the way from May to November!!
If you want an industrial feel to your photos, Furman has that, too! These photos were all taken near some of the classroom buildings on campus!
I’m pretty sure that almost every session I photograph at Furman, we just HAVE to stop at these evergreen trees. The lighting is always perfect, no matter the time of day, and I am totally in love with all of the images I take here. You can usually find me hiding inside the tree to create beautiful foregrounds for these images!!
Another classic Furman location is the lake!! We can choose to shoot with the belltower in the background or not! It’s totally up to you! The lake is especially beautiful and the light especially soft at twilight during blue hour! There are other spots around Furman as well like the chapel, the grassy area by the student center, the bell tower, and the Asia garden (below).
This one is at Steph’s parents house! We get private access to this field. It’s so amazing!! They also have an incredible Japanese Maple Tree that is beautiful in the fall. Plus, wooded spots if that’s your vibe! This is our number oe place to shoot beacuse it’s private and there’s a lot of diversity
Our couples love this location, and it has so much to offer in all seasons! There are flowers, woods, trees, and even a spot with an open field. If you’re close to Clemson, this is a great location for an engagement session!
If Clemson is your place, then the Walker Golf Course Dock is also a must! It’s just about 5 minutes from the Botanical Gardens, so we can go to both of these locations in Clemson if you’d like! Or, you can pair it with a trip to Death Valley or the Esso Club like one of our Clemson Alumni couples did!
Clemson is also a really beautiful campus to photograph! If you’re a tiger fan, or if you just want beautiful buildings and light in your photos we can head over to Clemson!
We love engagement sessions at Anderson University! Even if you aren’t an AU grad, it’s still a beautiful spot for photos! If you want a more classy feel to your photos this is a great place! There are lots of hidden gems around campus including some buildings with beautiful columns!
We also absolutely LOVE shooting at our studio in Anderson! We get gorgeous light in the backyard pretty much all day. And we have an indoor option in case of inclement weather too!
If your perfect location is not in Greenville, Easley, Anderson, or Clemson, that’s okay! We love to travel for sessions and love it when couples pick a spot that is sentimental to them. Below are some of our favorite locations outside of the complimentary radius that we can visit! Let us know your favorite spot & we’ll let you know about the additional travel fees. No idea is too crazy!
